Humour me, people.

Do I just have a gigantic head, or have other people had to make hats bigger than the pattern says?
I've been following a pattern for nearly 6 mo, and to no avail have I had it fit.
BUT! My gauge matches irregardless of the fact that I had to jump up a size to get it, and I did it in 90 sts around, as well as 108 sts around.
With the 90sts, it was a beenie, which when you do actually have a big head, is not good.
The second time I make it with 108 sts around, it looked like it should fit someone whom suffers from gigantisism.(Big feet, big hands, big heads, ECT.)
WTF!!!!!!!!!! This is bull! If I wasn't poor i'd just go up ANOTHER size and follow the origional 90sts, but I -cannot- afford more circs or DPN's, never the less, I have -never- seen size 9 double knitting needles in a pack of 5.

You see, the first ever reason that I was going to make a hat, was that last year during the victorian stroll, it was cold. And I don't own any winter hats, nor have I for at least the last seven years, and I never had a hat because I think I look dorky in them - granted having a gigantic head does not help. I've been thinking about taking the yarn that Pounce used for my scarf to make the hat - the yarn I have is shot from being ripped and knitted over and over again.

GAAAAAAGH!!!

All right - I jumped the gun at gettign PO'ed at the Chenelle, it's behaving now :P. I am not attempting a cabled scarf atthe moment, it would make tinkering with this yarn too diffucult.
(Cables, are essentally when you knit the stitch after the first stitch on your left Needle, and thsi twist makes the knitting a bit tighter. That and I have barely mastered Cables :P)

Grr.

So, I got six 3oz balls of lion brand suede in wine(For 6 dollars), I -had- planned on making a scarf with it, but its a FUCKING BITCH to work with. At least with knitting, I renember using something similar to it for Davinya's black chenille scarf, and I don't renember it being such a PAIN IN THE ASS.
I'm hoping as I get farther along in knitting it that it will be easier to use - but I haven't even gotten off of the cast-on yet.(That should tell Vin and pounce quite a bit. I usually refuse to leave something on it's cast-on. OCD much?)
I also cranked up the needle size, hoping that would make it a bit eisier, but nope.(It has a reccommended size 9, with 12sts to the inch, i'm using size 11, no idea on the gauge yet.)
So...Yeah. The hat must have has an inch of ribbing done(out of 4 inches. Then 4 inches of straight stockinette, then dec's every 18th st, still in stockinette, until there's nothing left to dec.), my big stockings still have 3 rounds of black ribbing(finished the black, 7/5/07), 10 rnds of purple ribbing, 20 rnds of stockinette, ect, ect, ect. The little stocking has 2 more stripes before calf shaping is started, then I do 40 rnds of plain stockinette, and start working on the short-row heel, 10(15?20? I have to check the big pattern.) rnds plain stockinette then work on an alternate toe to the stockings, because I hate seams against my toes.(With a passion, and so does pretty much everyone else in my family :P.)

minisocks.

So, before I go and commit myself to poddibly having to take apart my socks again, I have decided to make a sock that is literally half the stiches in length and width.
It's about halfway done and it's probibly cumulitively taken me 6 hours...over the process of three days :P.
Hopefully I'll get to the foot of this sock - and I am debating on making a set(To sell....4 dollars sounds good, that'll get me a replacemnt yarnball.), or just making it one of my new stockings that are hung up at the house.
*shrug*

Anybody know a little girl that likes purple and black?
